Onemana Beach & Beach Reserves have two asphalt tennis courts - free. Park benches, 3 large, immaculate grassed beach reserves and groomed beach. Cleanest sand - ideal for sunning, swimming, contemplating. Excellent for windsurfing, boating, snorkelling, scuba diving, hiking, picnicking, barbequing, fishing, walking, photography, weddings and archaeology. Beautiful large pond with fish, ducks and lilies. Hot Pools. Mountain biking, horseback riding, canoeing, rock climbing, kayaking, birdwatching, kite flying and kite fishing.

Nearby Whangamata is 7km south of Onemana. Onemana and Whangamata are both 2 hours from Auckland, under 2 hours from Hamilton or Tauranga and 3 hours from Rotorua. An excellent central location for touring. Nearby Whangamata has both 9 and 18 hole golf courses, mini-golf, a fun park, cinema, skate board bowl, swimming pool, NZ's top surfing beach, art galleries, numerous clubs and restaurants and modern diverse shopping and service facilities, and charter boats. Numerous convention, exhibition and meeting facilities are available. Between Onemana and Whangamata there are many beautiful walks, with vistas of volcanic mountains, islands, forests, waterfalls, moored yachts and pristine beaches.

Local Wildlife includes whales, dolphins, turtles, penguins, ducks, unique NZ birds, seals, possums, deer, and migrating sea birds.
